DAY01: PANAMA CITY On arrival at Tocumen International Airport, passengers will go through customs and immigration. Our representative will meet the group at the arrival hall to take the transportation to Casco Viejo, at down town Panama. Check in and dinner at Hotel Panama Central. DAY02: CASCO ANTIGUO and EMBERAS After picking you up at your hotel, we will go to Alajuela Lake where we will board a ¨piragua¨, a traditional indigenous boat, heading to the Mono waterfall where we can swim and refresh. Later we will go to Tusipono Embera, a small traditional village located in the bank of the Chagres River in the middle of the rainforest. The Emberas will show their traditions, their way of dressing and how they elaborate their handcrafts. They will perform their traditional dances and music and we will have time for interacting directly with them. We will enjoy lunch prepared by the Embera community. .. . Darien National Park Package – 4 Days and 3 Nights Day 1: Arrival in Darien. End of the Inter-American Highway. Welcome to Darien. Leaving Panama City early in the morning, we will make several stops along the highway, until we reach the National Border Service (SENAFRONT) checkpoint in Agua Fría. After a short review, we will continue traveling along the Pan-American highway, until finally reaching Yaviza, (end of the Inter-American highway from Alaska), once in Yaviza we have to register with the ANAM (National Environmental Authority), to enter the Darién National Park and once again at the SENAFRONT in Yaviza. These are simple, routine visitor registration checks. Then, we are ready to take a canoe (traditional water transport), or a local boat that will take us to El Real de Santa María, (approximate time of 1 hour), upon reaching El Real we take a 4×4 car (used by the residents), to address the indigenous community of Pijibasal. In Pijibasal we will spend the first night, with the accommodation and food conditions that the community will provide us.
